Leadership Skills Development Program in Cambridge, United Kingdom

Program Details

This project is an intensive learning program for leadership skills and self-development in Cambridge, England, a world-class educational city. It focuses on developing one’s potential to become a leader, experiencing the world, learning how to live abroad, learning about different education systems, developing one’s personality, and inspiring courage, challenges, and self-discovery, as well as experiencing the world-renowned University of Cambridge.

The project also organizes various workshops that provide participants with special opportunities, such as workshops on becoming a successful person in business, emotional intelligence, and skills in using AI in work to maximize efficiency, as well as learning lessons from 10 world-famous books that leaders should read.

In addition, the selected participants will also travel to gain new experiences, visit nature, different architectures, open up their horizons, and create interactions and make new friends to build a network for the future. Most importantly, they will have a broader view of the world and a greater vision.

Applicant Qualifications

  1. Age: 18–55 years old.
  2. Basic understanding of English.
  3. Thai nationality (including Thai nationals residing abroad).

  4. Good physical health, positive attitude, and willingness to learn about diverse

  5. No criminal record.
    Willingness to adhere to UK entry regulations and local customs.
    Not previously awarded a full scholarship from the UK government.

Number of Participants

25 individuals

Selected participants will receive an official invitation letter for visa
processing or leave requests.

Program Duration

Participants must engage in activities across three phases:

  • Phase 1 (Nov 5–20, 2024):
    Document preparation and UK visa application.
    Organizers will provide necessary documents and assistance throughout the
    process.
  • Phase 2 (Nov 9, 2024–Jan 5, 2025):
    Online pre-departure leadership and self-development course.
    Classes held via Google Meet every Saturday and Sunday, 7:30–9:30 PM
    (Thailand time).
  • Phase 3 (Feb 10–24, 2025):On-site activities at Studio Cambridge and University of Cambridge, UK.

Phase 2

Participants will learn leadership and self-development courses. The classes will be held online via Google Meet every Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Thailand time).

Phase 3

Key activities during the exchange period in the UK for selected participants

  1. Participants will stay in carefully selected host families/hotels in safe neighborhoods.
  2. Each morning from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, participants will attend a world-class book workshop and learn about leadership and self-development skills at Studio Cambridge.
  3. In the afternoon from 1.30 pm onwards, participants will have an educational tour of various locations in Cambridge and can also explore at their own leisure.
  4. Join a classic boat cruise in Cambridge.
  5. Visit the sites of world leaders and have the opportunity to attend a public lecture at the University of Cambridge.
  6. Attend the certificate ceremony after the program.

Cost of participation in the project

All 25 selected applicants will have to pay a total fee of only 149,000 baht.

Included Costs:

  • Round-trip airfare (Bangkok–London).
  • Participants traveling from other countries may receive budget support for
    self-booked tickets.
  • Pre-departure orientation.
  • Leadership and personal development workshops.
  • Accommodation (host family or hotel).
  • Unlimited bus pass in Cambridge for two weeks.
  • Meals (breakfast and dinner) for host family accommodations.
  • University of Cambridge activities and tours.
  • Excursions and sightseeing in Cambridge and London.

Note: Those who choose to stay at the hotel will have to pay an additional 19,000 baht and will stay at the Ibis Hotel or equivalent, where the hotel only covers breakfast.

Excluded Costs:

  1. UK Entry Permit and Passport Fees
  2. Personal expenses while participating in the programme

For those who are not selected but would like to attend the Different Leadership Programme at the University of Cambridge, UK, held on 3-4 October 2024, you may do the following:

  • Apply for the program via the website https://www.jbs.cam.ac.uk/executive-education/people/transformational-leadership/?Select the Transformational Leadership program.
  • Pay the full tuition fee of 2,990 GBP (approximately 137,000 baht, depending on the exchange rate on the date of payment)
  • Please note that the Transformational Leadership program is only for 2 days. The above costs do not include accommodation, flights, UK entry permits, etc.

Conducting the selection process and announcing the results

  • Applications: On the announcement date – 12 October 2024
  • Announcement of the list of eligible applicants for interview (via email): 15 October 2024
  • Online interview: 19 October 2024
  • Announcement of the list of applicants who passed the interview round: 23 October 2024
  • Selection applicants confirm their rights on: 23 – 29 October 2024

The selection results of the scholarship selection committee are final.

How to apply

  3. Write an essay under the topic: “Who exemplifies a true leader and what qualities of this leader inspire you in your pursuit of personal growth & leadership development?”

The rules for writing an essay are as follows:

  • Use Microsoft Word to write
  • More than 300 words, no more than 600 words
  • For English, use Times New Roman font, size 14
