A Language and Cultural Exchange Program for Thai Youth in Japan

Program Details

This program focuses on learning traditional Japanese culture, developing leadership skills in a Japanese context, and improving basic Japanese language skills. It provides Thai youth and interested individuals the opportunity to experience life in Osaka and Kyoto, explore new cultures and lifestyles, and exchange perspectives with people from around the world. Participants will enjoy exclusive access to traditional Japanese activities and will be facilitated in their journey to Osaka, Japan, where they will gain new experiences, explore nature, and embrace a broader worldview.

Applicant Qualifications

  1. Aged between 15-30 years.
  2. Students or youth interested in experiencing and immersing themselves in traditional Japanese culture.
  3. Must hold Thai nationality.
  4. Interested in developing leadership skills.
  5. In good health with a positive attitude, ready for self-development, and eager to learn diverse cultures.
  6. Responsible, adaptable, flexible, and willing to learn new things.
  7. Must not have a criminal record.
  8. Must not have previously received a full scholarship from the Japanese
    government.

Number of Participants:

20 individuals

Note: There is no selection exam or interview. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 20 applicants will secure participation.

  5. Opportunities to build valuable networks and learn diverse cultures, which can benefit future studies or careers.
  6. Participants will receive certificates from International Kingdom, Human Academy (Japan), and an official course participation certificate from leadership and academic experts.

Program Duration

Participants must complete activities in two phases:

Phase 1: September – October 2024 Online preparatory classes before traveling to Japan.
Phase 2: October 13 – 26, 2024 On-site activities at Human Academy, Osaka, Japan.

Phase 1: Online Preparatory Classes

Participants will take leadership and self-development courses and prepare for the cultural exchange in Japan. Classes will be conducted via Google Meet every Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Thai time) from September 14 to October 6, 2024.

Phase 2: Key Activities in Osaka, Japan

  1. Morning workshops (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM) focusing on basic Japanese language, Japanese etiquette, and the lifestyle of Japanese leaders.
  2. Immersion in traditional Japanese culture, including tea ceremonies, sushi-making, dressing in traditional attire, martial arts/ninja techniques, and experiencing Japan’s famous anime and manga creation process.
  3. Afternoon excursions (from 1:00 PM onwards) to various Osaka attractions, such as the Kaiyukan Aquarium and other destinations, with free time for personal exploration.
  4. Classic river cruise in Osaka.
  5. Cultural exploration in Kyoto, known for preserving Japan’s historical traditions.
  6. Participation in the Certificate Ceremony upon program completion.

Fees Cover:

  1. . Round-trip airfare (Bangkok – Osaka).
  2. Orientation for participants.
  3. Online leadership and self-development courses.
  4. Accommodation at Floral Hotel · Sakaisuji-Honmachi Osaka or equivalent in Osaka, Japan.
  5. Local transportation for activities in Osaka and Kyoto.
  6. Travel insurance.
  7. Cultural exchange and language lessons at Human Academy.
  8. Excursions and trips as listed in the schedule.

Fees Do Not Cover:

  1. Passport fees.
  2. Meals and personal expenses during the program.

For late applicants:
Late applicants may join the program at the full fee of 158,000 THB, subject to a special quota of 5 participants.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the application form (Google Form).
  2. Write an essay on the topic:
    “How Learning and Experiencing Japanese Culture Helps Us Grow”
    • Language: Thai
    • Word count: 300-600 words
  3. Pay a 3,500 THB deposit to register and attach proof of payment with the application.

Note: Unsuccessful applicants (beyond the first 20) will receive a full deposit refund within three days of the results announcement.
